'To get to the underside is where I'm interested in going. The raw margins have a hidden beauty and awakening of their own to embrace'.
Susan's art comes from both deep personal spaces and awareness of all that surrounds her. It neither conforms nor preaches, it's unshackled and intense, bold and colourful.
'The injustice and madness of the world drive me to paint as a way of understanding and framing perspective, and, in the process hopefully furnishing positivity - through oil paint I speak" !

Susan grew up near Brighton in Sussex. She presently lives in North-West Norfolk .
A heritage of creative talent, St Martins School of Art, and a specialist course in visual merchandising, all led Susan to spend several years as Display and Exhibition Designer with Dior.
Switching direction completely, she then worked in the third sector, developing, and directing services to support and mentor people living with disability and life altering conditions. Her design roots never left, so she combined her second professional career with kick starting the family interiors studio and building an online gallery.
'From my work with people whose life had been seismically shifted by trauma or illness, I learned how to see things from very different perspectives'.
'I have painted all my life, but until around 2014 quietly and mainly for myself. Now I’m back to perhaps where I should have been all along' !
